Dakota Dickerson Partners with Doug Mockett and Co. in F3 Title Pursuit

Reigning F4 U.S. Champion Dakota Dickerson announced today that the California-based company, Doug Mockett & Company, has come on board as a major sponsor for the 2019 season. Doug Mockett, the company’s President is very well-known and highly respected in motorsports, and is an avid racer himself, competing annually in the Carrera Panamericana, 7-day 2500-mile rally from southern to northern Mexico as well as vintage races throughout the country.

Mockett has been helping promising young talent for the past several decades. His latest protégé was IndyCar’s Colton Herta, and before that, Neil Alberico and Spencer Pigot. The two met via email at the end of 2015 when Dickerson competed in England as part of the Team USA Scholarship program, of which Mockett is a sponsor, and have remained in contact over the years. Doug Mockett met Dickerson in person two years ago and has been keeping an eye on the young driver’s career ever since. On April 11, Dickerson will join Doug Mockett as his guest at the Grand Prix of Long Beach RRDC dinner.

“It is a pleasure to be a sponsor of Dakota Dickerson for the 2019 season,” said Mockett. “It has been a nearly four-decade avocation and true passion to have helped so many up and coming drivers. Dakota shows the ability and talent and tenacity to make it to the top and it is great to be on the team.”

Dakota Dickerson was ecstatic to have been chosen by Mr. Mockett as his next protégé.

“This is a chance of a lifetime and I am just over the moon” said Dickerson. “It is a huge honor to have the support of Doug Mockett and CO. this year in F3 Americas. He has helped so many young drivers achieve their dreams and I will do everything I can to continue that legacy. When I visited Mr. Mockett last year at his office, the first thing that hit me was his passion for racing, his kindness, and willingness to help.”

Dickerson looks forward to his first race in less than two weeks, as the F3 Americas season begins April 5-7 at Barber Motorsports Park during the Honda Indy Grand Prix of Alabama.
