Velocity Racing Development Heads to Road America with Two Cars

Mathias Soler-Obel and Parker Locke to take on Road America

After a winning weekend in Virginia only a few weeks ago, Velocity Racing Development (VRD) and their F3 Americas Powered by Honda drivers will return to the track this weekend in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin. Taking on the famed Road America, VRD will enter a pair of drivers in Mathias Soler-Obel and Parker Locke at the 4.014-mile, 14-turn Kettle Moraine road course.

Soler-Obel currently sits fifth in the F3 Americas Powered by Honda Championship chase and has scored points in the most recent six rounds. After a tough start to the 2019 season, the rookie driver has adapted to the Velocity Racing Development philosophy and come into his own as of late.

Locke has shown consistency over the course of 2019 and has scored points in ten of twelve races to date this season with his best result coming in round four at Road Atlanta with a second place effort. Looking to get back to the podium this coming weekend at Road America, Locke will attack the Road America facility, much the same way he did at Road Atlanta.

"Road America is one of my personal favorites in North America," explained Dan Mitchell. "Mathias has raced there before but Parker hasn't so he is going to need to come to grips with the track quickly. The team continues to test and strive for more. People say it gets easier after your first win but trust me, it doesn't, we want more, much more."

Taking to the track this coming Thursday for four thirty-minute practice sessions, qualifying and the first wheel-to-wheel action of the weekend will commence Friday with round thirteen while round fourteen hits the track this Saturday in Wisconsin.
