Multi-level program adds first driver for 2019 season

With the 2019 racing season just around the corner, Velocity Racing Development is pleased to announce the signing of future champion, Mathias Soler-Obel of Bogota, Colombia. Set to contest the F3 Americas Championship Powered by Honda program, Soler-Obel will enter the series with experience in multiple North American racing programs to be a threat for the series championship in his debut season.

"We are really happy that Mathias has chosen VRD as his program for 2019," explained the Velocity Racing Development Management Team. "We know he had a lot of offers on the table but to sign a driver of his natural skillset is proof that our program is on the rise."

With test days planned over the winter months, Soler-Obel will get acquainted with the car, crew, team and engineering side of Velocity Racing Development.

"This is the best program for my racing career at this current point in time," explained Soler-Obel. "I am confident in the VRD program and have watched the F4 and F3 programs grow from nothing to where they are today. There is a determined and confident group of people involved in this effort and I know my driving can help take them to the top."

With a yet to be announced schedule, Soler-Obel and Velocity Racing Development will continue to put their F3 car through the paces in preparation for the 2019 racing season.
