Ryan Shehan Claims Two Additional Podiums in New Jersey

August 2, 2023 Ryan Shehan, the current runner-up in the FR Americas Powered by Honda championship point standings, fought his way through tough competition this weekend at New Jersey Motorsports Park (NJMP) keeping hold of his championship position despite a tough end to his third and final wheel-to-wheel race.

Shehan sported a flashy new look at NJMP this weekend after announcing his car made an appearance in the recent MGM advertisement featuring Hollywood star Jamie Foxx. In Ryan’s Instagram post, he extended an invitation to Jamie Foxx to join him at COTA to see his car in action at the last event of the season, November 2-5.

After qualifying just off the pole position time, but on the front row in the second position, Shehan fought his way through the first race of the weekend, crossing the finish line in third, earning another podium result to add to his growing results resume. Continuing to showcase his skills, Shehan piloted his newly wrapped #66 car to the checkered flag one position better in race two Sunday morning, climbing one step further up on the podium in the second position. Sunday afternoon, however, was a bit of a letdown for the Austin, Texas native. After working hard to defend his position, contact from an overanxious competitor forced Shehan down the running order, taking away a podium result as he crossed the line in the sixth position.

“That last race was a tough one,” explains Shehan. “We had such a great run and were looking good for another triple podium-winning weekend. It’s tough to end a great weekend this way but I’m thankful I was still able to complete the race and finish in sixth, adding to my overall championship points total.”

After this past weekend, Shehan still holds strong to second place in the championship, just 55 points behind the leader.

Ryan continued, “Every single race counts. A single race weekend can completely change the championship, so I must continue to put pressure on the competition and continue to produce results since there are only two race events (six races) left on the 2023 schedule.”

The FR Americas Championship presented by Honda will now enter a two-month summer break before picking back up with their fifth round of races at the beginning of October. During the break, Shehan and his business team will be working hard to continue to build his motorsports marketing and real estate referral businesses, as well as staying in great physical and mental condition.

Ryan added, “We continue to work hard off the track to build our motorsports marketing and real estate referral businesses.  With our new eBook, “The Definitive Guide to Motorsports Marketing” now available, we are talking to companies that want to strategically drive growth using the unique opportunities that motorsports offer.”
